I haven't actually did many Magic posts at all since I started this blog. So let's do one!
I call it an Angels deck, but where are all the Angels??!
To be fair, I do have one in the deck, to keep it on theme.
The main focus of the deck however, is to focus on exploiting Sigil of the Empty Throne as much as possible. With all the little enchantments in the deck, it quickly becomes an Angel generating machine. From there, just flood the skies and overwhelm the opponent! =)
But since your main winning engine starts at 5 mana, making sure you survive and get to there is the main concern. Hence, the remainder of the deck is just a few control and tempo cards to slow your opponent enough til you get online. To fulfil both the slowing purpose and yet have enough synergy with the enchantments theme was a tough balance. Cards like Journey to Nowhere and Spreading Seas become really important. They come out early and stunt your opponents speed. Spreading Seas is criminally underrated, until it becomes 2 mana make angel and draw card.
For a little more long game fun, I added Shackles and Cage of Hands. You can keep returning them and recurring it. Cage costs 5 to recur, but you should have that if you have the Throne out already anyway. Only had one Shackles because I built this deck from whatever leftover cards I have. Didn't specially go out of my way to find super powerful cards or anything.
In the games we played, it fared pretty well. Easily defeated my friend's 2 decks, one Zoo and one Samurais. Though to be fair, his decks seemed really underpowered and old. Compared to mine which was built the day before I booked in. The Angels deck did however get trampled by my Elf deck when I let him pilot it. Let's just say, if both players keep doing nothing.... It's an army of angels versus infinite elves and life. Hmm.....
That's all for today. Just a short Magic: the Gathering post to conclude my recap of my ICT last week. I should have a full blown post coming soon, to conclude off Chapter Two. Maybe when the dreaded exam results are realeased. On the 20th? I think.
Cya.
