Forecasted lack of updates...

As stated in the title, I might be a little more busy over the remainder of the week and the most part of next week. Tomorrow is sit-in lab #3, which I'm Supposed to be studying for now. Following that, I got an oral presentation to prepare for, that's worth a good 30% CA marks, and it's due on Wednesday. So I probably got like 5 days (including weekends) to prepare my slides, my lines, and rehearse for it. Right after that, I have a Maths quiz on Friday of that very same week. After which, I should be able to take a short breather, and study for my Term test for CS2100, which is on the following week.

Yep, that pretty much summarizes what I've got for the next couple o' weeks. Quite hectic eh? The workload for this university is really Mad. Which is why I was kinda pissed off at the fact that SMU students get generally higher starting pay. But more seriously, I'm beginning to question our education system slightly. It seems that as time passes, most people have lost track of the main aim of education. It feels like education in Singapore is less and less about the acquisition of new knowledge and more of a Stress Test (refer to the wiki to see what I mean) of sorts, to see if the people you put through it can survive it. That was kind of what I was thinking about this afternoon, as I see more and more of my peers getting sick, myself included. A little competition is good, but is too much competition getting unhealthy?

More ranting: CS2100 is seriously (pronounced: see-rye-us-lee) tough. Or maybe just really time consuming if you wanna go understand what the heck it's really talking about. Though both cases are about the same to me. Just remembered I got a lab session for this tomorrow too. No idea why Info Sys majors have to take this at all. Seems a lot like an engineering module, or at most computer science too. But Info Sys too? Why? According to a friend, some of our notes are actually really similar to those use at MIT. That's pretty crazy, to know that we are on the same level as them.

OK enough complaining, I've fulfilled my duty as a Singaporean.

Recently downloaded the final CD released by The Friday Night Boys. Really like literally every song on the album, too bad they broke up already (why must all good things end?!). Anyway, there are a number of nice songs I keep spamming, like....

Oh ya, downloaded Mozilla Firefox 4 today. Pretty cool, though the new UI looks really similar to IE 9. Not sure who copied who, but in browser wars, consumers always win. Healthy competition ftw. lol.
