Ignorance is Bliss

Yo. Wassup guys. I think it's easier if I make this blogging thing a weekly affair. At least I will have some regular schedule to commit to, and just do it. For now, let's make that a date every Sunday alright? I will typically try to get something up by every Sunday evening. This way, it would be easier and more predictable for regular readers as well.

Ignorance is bliss...
Just like how I ignore these daggers in my chest...

Well, I think I know why Queen of Pain is one of my favorite Dota heroes already. She likes to constantly throw daggers at people with her Shadow Strike. Just like how people always throw daggers at me. LOL.

Something rather interesting happened last week. I actually left work late on Friday! Coz I was chatting with a friend over IM and he was stuck in a meeting. So I ended up leaving work like 10mins later, and had to wait pretty long for the bus. I thought I didn't see anyone I knew at the bus stop. The hougang dude usually leaves on time one. And bloody hell, the bus comes 2 at the same time. Now wonder waited so damn long lah.

That's not the interesting part. So, I decided to board the second bus coz it looked a bit more empty mah. I expected to make my journey home as usual in peace. But hey, I saw one of my orientation mates as one of the last few people to board the bus. I was one of the first few on the bus and seated already, so I attempted to try to say hi. Dunno issit I was too soft and inaudible, or was I too unrecognizable. She totally didn't see or reply me leh! Totally dao me to the max. Perhaps coz she was with another male friend, talking til too engrossed. So okay lor, they just sat behind me and we made our merry way to the train station.

When reached the bus stop near the train station, I let them get off first. Since she didn't say hi, I thought let's not make it any more awkward, let them go ahead first maybe they going to meet some people at the mall. I just wanted to get on a train home. And so that's what I did, just go into the train station. It seems fate would have it, that I saw them again waiting at the door for the train about 2 cabins away from me. I saw them walking there. The guy had his hand on her waist area.... So it wasn't just suspicious. Everything became crystal clear already.... So much for green light. I guess it was all a lie. o_0

And....... Shattered! Ok! Next story.

Well, the the next story is about meeting with my bestest friend in the world. My long time old friend that I've known from Primary One until now. We still keep contact, and play dota together every now and then. I can split this into 2 posts one. But the reason I join these 2 posts together is because the title makes more sense. Ignorance of a painful event to attend a more blissful event. So why not.

Anyway, the story is that I was shopping for dota t-shirts online a couple of weeks back, so I decided to buy my best friend one for christmas as well. I needed to pass it to him soon, since I'm leaving for holiday during the christmas week. So, I arranged for us to meet on Saturday so I could pass him the gift. Our usual meeting place is Plaza Sing, since it's most convenient for both of us. And usually, we just eat at the Carl's Junior there since it's the closest and easiest place to decide. So ok cool.

At first, I dunno why he asked me to bring my camera. Perhaps he said it before, but I didn't catch. But the intention is that we were both going down to visit the ANIME FESTIVAL ASIA (AFA) convention at Suntec City. Very cool, I've never actually been there before. It really is much much bigger than I had imagined. Honestly, I didn't think there would be so many anime junkies, nerds, and otakus in Singapore, boys and girls alike! It's just surprising to me, the scale of this event. There's just so so many people!

But anyway we didn't have a lot of time, since my friend had to leave by 4pm. So we just walked around the outside of the ground, coz apparently you need to pay for a ticket to enter the booths area, and pay event more to go into the main area. Not to mention the extra for the concert part. So many people, money making fiesta sia. The main thing we went to see, is to take a look at the many many cosplayers there! Wah, really so many and a lot have very elaborately designed costumes. I'm still impressed by some of the efforts that went into the more elaborate costumes. That must have too loads of time. Since I had be asked to bring a camera, I decided to play photog for a day, and take photos of all the nice and pretty cosplayers there! I still don't dare to ask for shots, so I tend to hitch in when other photogs are doing their shots. Just join in the fun. LOL.

And it was fun lah, get to see so many characters there. Many of which I don't even know, coz I just don't watch anime as much anymore as back in the past. I'm kind of the reformed otaku, the in-betweener. Also, neither here nor there. HAHA. But hey it was fun times. I got to catch up with my oldest bestest buddy, chat about life, about work, etc. Then after that go around and see all those interesting costumes. So it's not that bad a way to end off my week! I think I would probably go for more of these events and conventions if given the chance. I just really dunno when the dates of these are. Heck I don't even really know the IT Show dates all that well. I really need to beef up my social aspects, and stop drifting like a log.

So anyhow in summary, those were the key things that happened in my life this week. The rest of the weekdays was pretty boring, apart from my Japan tour briefing on Thursday, nothing much else really happened on Mon-Wed besides work. Then I got a nasty surprise on Friday which hurt somewhat, and then Saturday was all play and fun so I guess I'm satiated. It's impossible to remove all the daggers, but constant jabs of pain killers sure help! So go enjoy yourselves, and remember to have fun guys! :P

A video dedication to all those people over the years
