Tiresome Day

Today really damn shagged.
I had meeting in the early morning, then went one round around SoC career fair. Then Went for consultation. Then went for the next consultation. Then a short meeting. And I only slept 3hr+ the previous night... Tired siol!!

Assignments are piling up like mad. FYP lagging like mad... Stress.

Gots a report and presentation due on Monday morning. Got a proposal due on Friday of that same week. Got to start coding my FYP system!! So far behind man. And that is compounded by a lack of quality group members. My Gamification group is the best out of the 2. 5 out of 6 of us can do work one. 4 are Singaporeans. The last Indonesian guy doesn't show up for any of our meetings one. Fucker.

Then there is my Service Systems group. A weird mix of asian countries I must say. 3 out of 6 are Singaporean, but the last girl can't do any quality work one. The butch was a last minute addition as we didn't have a sixth member, so grab off the forums. Bad idea. Then the Indian dude, while he technically can do work, he seems rather lazy at times. And then you know them, they always insist they are correct, no matter how preposterous their 'argument' may sound. The last guy is some indonesian guy again, actually not bad one, from RI. But it seems he is very theoretical, to the point of sometimes being impractical. What I mean is that his ideas sound nice, but execution not quite there. A bit similar to me, but I usually try to balance with some practical concessions.

Then there is my FYP project. With all these things going on, where got time to sit down whole day and code sia!! Die liao lah, this is week what already?! Login still not done, basic stuff all not there. Only the template design is put up nice nice for show. Let's not even talk about the 50-60 pages final report...

In other news, this week got career fair. I went for 2 sessions already. The one on 11th not much stuff leh. Mostly non-tech related companies, or though got a few lah. JY and Kenneth came back to school to visit the fair. I was a little late, so we only sat down awhile to chat for a bit. Turns out Kenneth is going for the interview too. Hopefully he gets it. Then, there was also a SoC career fair today which just nice coincide with my ultimate chain meetings day. So, I spent a short while go down there to look lor. Turns out, IDA is hiring!

They set up a booth there to promote their mass hiring. I think they are trying to expand their development capabilities. Which to me is weird lah. Coz I thought gov agency don't do for-profit businesses directly one. Usually they are just the middleman between vendor and client. At least that was the case when I intern there. But I did hear news that department was expanding. From downstairs 8th floor expand until our 10th floor. Alamak, probably shouldn't reveal too much. Later tio owned by cease and desist or some NDA. lol

But I think that one got chance leh. Considering I intern there before, and got go talk to companies before. I like the job because the title sounds sexy, Business Analyst sia! Is that being too bimbotic? But really sounds infinite times better than just "Engineer", doing some secret defence related work. Do what? Cannot say. No camera phone. Book-in to CMPB every morning. Like sad leh. Enclose in there how to find wife? Haha.

Speaking of which, there is also another session of Career Fair on friday. Weird that they put it on Valentine's day. On purpose one or what? Anyway I got no plans. I #foreveralone one. Got lah, got plans. Got project meetings lor. Need to meetup to discuss with the group to finalize the ideas for the Gamification project. So next week can start proposal writing. Then also need to meet with Chih Yong to thrash out the details of our FYP feature list and who does what by when. Gonna be a pretty packed day.

Wouldn't it be nice if someone gave you a gift? Lol, wishful thinking? Nah, I just saw the Computing Club people's new silly idea. Actually it's pretty interesting lah, but overall I don't think the uptake will be high. Maybe only a handful of people will use the service, and most likely I think will be the Computing Club people themselves. So actually quite lame. But I applaud the effort. Here's the flyer.

That's about it from me. Rarely I get the chance to blog. But right now just damn shagged and don't feel like doing work. I will continue tomorrow morning. Chiong finish my part of the report. I'll leave you with this song:

Maybe it's not my weekend, but it's gonna be my year!

Cya!
