Chapter Eight: New Year++

Happy New Year Everyone!!

I hope all of you are well. I'm certainly glad 2013 is behind me. It certainly wasn't my best year, but it was a year of learning indeed. I'll just quote from my Facebook post.

Since everyone is posting new year wishes and reflections, I feel obliged to do the same. I kinda expected the Snake year to be great for me. But honestly, I can't say that 2013 was a smooth and perfect journey. Rather, it was fraught with many challenges and difficulties, with a rather bitter ending. Still, I did learn quite a number of things, and was certainly thrown off my laurels. With graduation just in sight, 2014 is looking to be a great year of transformation for me. I am thankful for everyone who has been, or will be, on this journey with me. 

That basically sums it up for me. 2013 was a year of lessons. Ultimately, I was taught that I can't just take it easy and still breeze through everything. 2014 I will make it a more positive year. Hence, the title is New Year++, which has double meaning. For programming people, ++ means increment by one. For normal folks, it just means I want to be more positive this year!

Judging by my previous posts, there's a lot of dark and emo stuff. Not somewhere I like to dwell in. The negativity begets more negativity, eventually leading to a vicious cycle. So, fuck what other people think. I am my own man. I want to choose to think positive, and lead a fulfilling life.

I can do it.

That's about it. Positive thoughts and positive thinking is important. Need to learn from the best right? Hate to admit it, but people like Jonah tend to do pretty well because they always have a can-do attitude. Must seriously learn from them. When you're at this stage, nothing is really too tough or laborious to do. It's whether you want to do it or not. Complaining gets you nowhere.

So, think positive! :)
