Awake from Slumber

I say this a lot during the holidays, but I haven't really been blogging much lately. In my defense, I have been updating twitter and tumblr... I want to start off the new year on the right note, so I feel like I should probably stop being a lazy bum. It's a lot tougher than it sounds! :c

Tomorrow will mark the first day of school, and the official start of Chapter 3 for this blog. Although, I have started using Chapter 3 tags already, since I felt it was appropriate to start the new year on a different chapter. But actual blog posts with some content will start coming in from tomorrow onwards.

Week one is always kind of funny, because there are no tutorials to attend. For tomorrow, I only have one class in the morning. After the 3hrs lecture, I'm free for the whole day! What's more interesting is that they have not uploaded any lecture notes or anything for tomorrow. No workbin in IVLE at all! I guess they are more relaxed for a "Singapore Studies" module. But then again, I can't even click on the IS2104 module website. It's greyed out, they don't even have a page yet! My friend who is in an Australian university finds our tutorial and lecture balloting system very last minute. I kind of agree too, but I guess it is also good to help us slowly transition into the high stress school life.

I blew 900+ 'General' points on GEK1531 because there is no exams and tutorials for it. But I kind of predicted that it would be around there also, so it is not really unexpected. Too bad Chih Yong never got the module. He didn't listen to me about the bidding points. Oh well, I feel like a lot of people got outbid as well. I glanced through the class roster, and didn't see many familiar SoC names. At least not those from my cohort. In contrast, almost everyone from my cohort is taking IS3221 and IS2103 this semester. Yikes, hope I can compete.

But before school starts though. Have you wondered what I've been doing in my holidays? It's pretty lame, lol. I've been playing a MapleStory private server called ArcaneMS (by Intrinsic Network). It is a low rate MapleGlobal private server, unlike the 1000x exp and drop rates from other servers. It's actually slightly more challenging, without being too grindy like the official one. The favorite thing I like about it is that it has all the latest updates that MapleSEA doesn't have yet. I'm currently playing a Demon Slayer, which is one of the latest new jobs. Quite fun.
