Week 1 of Back-to-School
I've been neglecting this blog to play ArcaneMS, lol. Just remembered I haven't been blogging. Hmm.... What should I be blogging about? Let's do a quick review of the past week shall we?
Firstly, I have to say that this sem feels a lot more relaxed as compared to previous semesters. Maybe it's because we just started, and there are no tutorials and work yet. Maybe I should be more worried because of that?
Anyway, here are my first impressions of the modules I'm taking.
SSB2216 was pretty much do nothing and ice-breakers for the first lesson, so this may not be accurate. But basically, I feel like it is sort of a GP-esque module. You know, like from JC times. The lecturer is quite old. Started teaching in NUS the year I was born. The environment there quite chill, and everyone seems to be friendly enough. We were asked to give 3 points about ourselves. My 3 points, while somewhat true, perhaps were not very positive. "Very Blur; Anti-Social; Always thinking about stuff", was what I wrote. Haha. Oh well, nothing much to say about this module yet. At the very least, I get to see people from various faculties there.
IS2103 is somewhat mixed feelings. I find that the lecturer is a decent presenter, but.... His deep voice can sometimes make you sleepy also. On the plus side, the usual gang I met from MA1312 are all there, excluding Julian. He chiong finish even the 8MC module already! My dilemma is that I'm not sure which tutorial slot to take. Thur 12 to 2pm, or 2 to 4pm. Coz I have a lecture on Thur from 9 to 12pm. So the main question is whether I want a 2 hour lunch break first, or if I want to try and do the 2 hours as a marathon, and then break for lunch before IS3221.
The worst part about my Wednesdays and GEK1531, is the lecture timing. I mean 6 - 9pm? WTF? Seriously taxing. And before the lecture, I have a 4 hr break to do nothing! Well to be fair, the free time will likely be eaten later on. But still, 4 hour breaks is sickening. About the lecturer.... Well, the first lecturer is rather interesting. He has a very bad habit of always ending each sentence with "Right?". And then when he gets excited enough, he goes: "Right? Okay. Right?". MEGA COMBO! Not to mention, he laughs kind of like austin powers... Creepy!
LOL! Okay, I probably shouldn't be making fun of him...
You know what? I'm kind of tired already.
So I guess I'll do the rest of the modules tomorrow... Nite!
