First Day Back to School: Ho-Hum

Today was the first day of school. Oh man, now I'm sounding like a Primary One kid? lols

I realised something different that I can do now compared to last time. Since Julian and I both stay in Seng Kang, we can actually meet up and go to school together! Why didn't I think of that before? LOL. Come to think of it, we could have done that for Calculus last year also. But that was damn early in the morning.

Today only had one lesson. 3hr lecture for SSB module, it's about human resource management. I think this module will at least provide somewhat useful knowledge for me. I mean, compared to all the other crappy SS modules that uh.... are useless. The law one might be good too, but not my thing. I'm always breaking the law anyways. Haha. If what Julian say is true, that everyone takes SS and GEM mods to S/U anyway, then I really might have a legitimate chance to get my 'A'. After all, I don't really have many more S/U I can spare, so that pushes me to buck up a little.

We straight away formed up project group on day one! Can you believe that? Most of us there knew at least some other people there. Julian and I planned to get that class together, then I think he planned with 2 other friends. We met Kenneth there purely out of coincidence, but I already saw his name in the name list the day before. Julian's friend from Engineering had 2 other friends, so all in all we fit 7 people just nice.

While I do not doubt the capabilities of my groupmates, I must admit that it is slightly boring. Well, boring is not exactly the correct word to use here, I just can't find the right word. Basically, our team is very technical heavy. Think about it, we have 4 people from Computing and 3 people from Engineering, with no girls. I didn't know Julian's friend had brought other friends along. I was hoping we could get at least 1 or 2 people from Business or FASS who might be better at writing stuff. That's not to say Engineering students or Computing students cannot write. I'd like to think that I should be decent enough. But what I really mean is to be able to get a different angle and opinion in discussions. Oh well, maybe I'm just thinking too much. It's likely we can still own. We got enough raw "fire-power".

Oh, and open-book exam helps too.

Another thing that has been troubling me is looking for a group for the 8MC module coming up next semester. From what I've been hearing, it seems like quite a number of people have already done informal arrangements to form teams. I'm scrambling to find myself a team too. Right now, I think I'll try and rope in Kenneth and Jian Yue and a few others to form a team. According to Julian, we need 6 people i think. If we can manage to get Jonah, Alvin and Ming Sheng, I think we will have a pretty perfect team already. That is, assuming none of them have already committed themselves to other teams. In my opinion, this team has a good mix and balance, and they are already good friends. I'll probably be the oddball as I have so far only had a touch-and-go relationship with most of them excluding Jonah. Not to mention I'll be the only JC dude there! But I think it is good to have at least one person from JC to be the contrasting balance thingy. Right?  :D

Wah... Tomorrow, and in general Wednesdays will be slightly screwed up lor. Although lessons only start at 12 noon, there is a freakin 4 hours break, with the last lecture at 6 to 9 PM!!! Why so late!! I have a feeling the lecturer is working outside or something. Bringing up GEK1531 reminds me of another headache inducing problem. I didn't know it had a group project when I bid for it. More importantly, I didn't know I would be alone!! My good friend who supposed to take the module with me chickened out the last minute, and didn't bid enough points. My only other friend left, has already joined with another team. Boo hoo. Haiz.... I guess I'll to do the old "put myself up for adoption" method as always.

Oh, another thing... I kinda promised myself to revise my Java before term starts... But somehow I never got around to doing it. Whoops!  :-/

Still lovin' this rock band. Yep, not even bored of them yet.
